Description: This module will introduce learners to the concerns adolescents have about their personal physical characteristics, their social standing, their emerging sexuality, their friendships, and their general adequacy as human beings, can affect adolescents' work at school. When instructional planning and informal teacher-to-student communications take place under conditions where these variables are part of the teacher's repertoire of professional understanding, the teacher increases his or her potential to "connect" with students in meaningful ways.
